Terms of use

What this website is, what it is not, and the rules that apply while you read it.

Updated

What these terms cover

These terms cover boreon.ai, the website you are reading, and tabtotalgrc.com, which redirects to it. Boreon Industries LLC publishes it to describe Boreon, our governance, risk and compliance platform for Tableau.

Reading this site does not create a contract. It is not an offer, not a warranty, and not a compliance opinion about your environment. Nothing here commits either of us to anything.

The software is governed by its own license, which is presented at sign-in and set out in the agreement you sign with us. Where this website and that agreement disagree, the agreement wins. It always wins.

If you are here to work out whether Boreon satisfies a control you are accountable for, read the security page and then write to us. We would rather answer the specific question than have you infer an answer from a marketing sentence.

Who publishes this site

Boreon Industries LLC publishes this site and owns the product it describes. Our full identification, including the address for formal notices, is in the legal notice.

For anything about these terms, about the product, or about your data, write to privacy@boreon.com. A person reads that address.

What the claims on this site mean

This site describes the product that ships. Where a page states a capability, that capability was read out of the product’s own source on the date the page names, and where a page names the file it came from, that is an invitation to check it.

Software moves. A page that was accurate when it was published can go out of date before it is corrected. Where you need certainty for a decision, ask us and we will answer in writing.

Where a capability is optional, the site says so. Optional means somebody in your organisation has to switch it on, and until they do, it does nothing.

Screenshots show the real interface running on our own site, with our own data. They are not mock-ups, and they are not a customer’s environment.

This site is not advice, and not a certification

Boreon produces evidence. Guard, for example, tags every finding it raises with a CIS Controls v8.1 Safeguard ID and a NIST CSF 2.0 function, and that tag travels with the finding into the export your auditor receives.

That is mapped audit evidence. It is not a certification, and this product does not issue one. Boreon holds no audited certification of its own, and no page on this site should be read as claiming otherwise. If one ever reads that way, it is wrong and we want to hear about it.

Nothing here is legal advice, audit advice, or a statement that you comply with anything. Those judgements are yours and your auditor’s. We give you the evidence to make them with.

Using this website

Read it, print it, and quote it with attribution. That is what it is for.

What we ask you not to do:

  • Reach for anything that is not published here, or try to.
  • Attack, overload, or interfere with the site or the infrastructure behind it.
  • Collect from it automatically at a rate that degrades it for anybody else.
  • Remove or obscure our notices and marks, or present this material as somebody else’s.

The acceptable use policy is a separate document and it governs the product. This section governs the website.

Trademarks and ownership

Boreon and TabKit, together with the names of the applications in the suite, are trademarks of Boreon Industries LLC. The text, images, layout and code of this site are ours as well.

Tableau and Salesforce are trademarks of Salesforce, Inc. Snowflake, Databricks, Infomaniak, Anthropic, OpenAI and Microsoft are trademarks of their respective owners. We name them because they describe what Boreon connects to, and for no other reason.

Naming a company on this site does not mean it endorses, sponsors, resells, or has reviewed Boreon. Boreon Industries LLC is a Salesforce Consulting Partner. That is a partner relationship at that tier, it is stated at that tier everywhere on this site, and we never describe it as more than it is.

The English version governs

This site is published in English, Japanese, German, French, Italian and Russian. English is the original. Every other language is a translation of it.

Where a translation and the English text differ in meaning, the English text governs.

That is not a comment on the translations. It is what makes publishing them responsible at all. One version has to be authoritative, and it should be the one the others were written from, so that a difference is always a translation to correct rather than a second set of terms nobody agreed to.

If you find a translation that says something the English does not, tell us at privacy@boreon.com and we will correct the translation.

Changes to this site and to these terms

We change this site as the product changes, and we may change these terms. The date at the top of this document is the date this text last changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means the current version applies to you.

A change to the terms of a service you pay for is handled in your agreement, not here. This document cannot amend that one.

Liability, governing law and contact

This website is provided as it is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we exclude liability for loss arising from your use of it, from reliance on anything published here, or from the site being unavailable.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited. Where the law says a limit does not apply, the law is right and this document is not.

Where you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory law of the country you live in, and nothing here takes that away. Where you use Boreon itself, your signed agreement governs that use and states the law and the courts that apply to it. Nothing on this page is a choice of law or of forum for anything beyond the website.

Questions about these terms go to privacy@boreon.com.
