Convert Files to Tableau

Upload an Excel, CSV or Power BI file to build a governed Tableau dashboard, or extract data straight out of an existing workbook.

AI optional, on your keyVersion 0.38.0

Platform guarantee

Nothing changes until a person says so.

You hold the pen

The AI reads, explains and proposes. Anything it suggests arrives as a card that routes into the same approval gate a person would use, with the same signature and dual-control rules. Publishing always creates a new copy and never overwrites your work.

Convert 0.38.0, behind the shared login to TabTotal. Your own Tableau permissions come with you. You see what you already have rights to and nothing else.

What Convert does for you.

Every line below was read out of the product’s own source on 14 August 2026.

  • A deterministic DAX translator that refuses rather than guesses: roughly forty functions are supported, and CALCULATE, FILTER, time intelligence and iterators are explicitly refused and flagged for a human.

  • AI drafts only the refused set, and nothing is applied until you accept it, one at a time.

  • Six publish gates, and it always creates a new copy.

Assurance

The AI is yours to switch on.

Where Convert uses AI, it runs on the provider key you supply. Your prompts go to the provider you picked, and nowhere else.

The model drafts. Anything that would change your Tableau content arrives as a card that routes into the same approval gate a person would use, with the same signature and dual-control rules you already run. Your team keeps the pen.

Design

Describe what you want, or bring a file you already have, and get governed content back.

Convert sits with these, and one login opens all of them with your Tableau permissions.

A month on your own content is a better test than any description of it.
